last updated: 05 mar, 2026
interval is designed to be privacy-first.
data collection is intentionally minimized and tracking is avoided.
1
data we collect
interval does not collect personal data such as name, email address, or contact information inside the app ui.
interval does not use analytics sdks, ad sdks, or user-tracking technologies.
2
local data storage
interval stores app settings and usage/statistics data locally on your device.
for licensing and offline validation, Interval also stores license-related data locally (including in keychain), such as:
local license state,
device identifier generated by the app,
locally cached entitlement data.
3
network usage
interval may access the internet only for operational purposes, including:
license activation and verification,
seat/device management for licensing,
grace-period/offline-license validation refresh,
checking and downloading app updates.
interval does not send analytics, advertising, or behavioral tracking requests.
4
device identification
to operate licensing, Interval may process and transmit:
license key,
app-generated device identifier,
device name,
session/security tokens used for license-device operations.
this information is used only for license validation and device-seat management.
it is not used for advertising profiling and is not sold to third parties.
5
accessibility (macOS)
interval may request accessibility permission to:
enable global hotkeys,
detect activity/inactivity events for timer automation (idle pause/resume/reset).
input content is not recorded (no keystroke text logging).
activity checks are used only for timer behavior.
6
notifications
interval may request notification permission to send app-related timer/license notifications.
notification permissions can be changed at any time in macOS settings.
7
payments
direct purchases are processed by paddle (merchant of record).
paddle handles payment processing, billing records, and related consumer rights/refunds under paddle’s terms.
8
third parties
interval does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
interval may use third-party infrastructure strictly for operations, including:
paddle (payments),
update hosting/delivery infrastructure used by the app updater.
9
data control
most app data is local to your device.
removing the app removes local app container data, but some secure items (such as keychain entries) may remain unless manually removed.
license/server-side records are retained as required for license operations and compliance.
10
your control
you can:
disable notifications,
deny/revoke accessibility permission,
deactivate your license/device from within the app (where available).
